About Sinupret for Kids

Recommended by pediatricians like Dr. Bob Sears (click here to read his tips for keeping your kids naturally healthy in the winter season), Sinupret for Kids has a proprietary blend of five-herbal blend combination of European Elder, Sorrel, Cowslip, European Vervain and Gentian.

It’s one of the world’s leading herbal remedies for upper respiratory health in children age 2 and up. Sinupret has been Germany’s #1 most widely recommended and scientifically tested nasal and sinus support formula for children and adults for more than 30 years.

The American Botanical Council published a monograph (a technical paper focusing on one subject) in February of this year (click here to read the news release). The monograph concluded that,  “Sinupret has a relatively significant level of safety and efficacy data compared to many other natural products intended for use in maintaining the health of sinuses and the upper respiratory tract”.

From the news release:

“The availability of this product, particularly the version for children, comes at a time when millions of parents are concerned about recent government advisories about the safety of conventional over-the-counter cough and cold medications in children,” he [Mark Blumenthal, founder and executive director of ABC] added.

The Food and Drug Administration advised parents not to administer cold and flu remedies to young children under 2 years of age and is reviewing the safety of such products for older children. A leading OTC drug industry trade association has recommended that parents not administer such products to children under 4 years.

But does it taste good?

For medicinal syrup, it’s not too bad! I tried it myself and while many kids may not like the herbal taste, it’s not sickenly sweet like most cherry cough syrups. And although it has a slight bitter-sweet aftertaste, it’s very herbal and nothing compared to the alcohol, mediciney aftertaste of common over-the-counter syrups.
